My Guest Lecture at the NUHS Ophthalmic Oncology/Oculoplastics Event, Singapore

I recently had the honour of being invited to speak at a NUHS Ophthalmic Oncology/Oculoplastics event in Singapore. It was a valuable experience where I shared insights from my work in Scotland on “Uveal Melanoma” and “Unusual Eyelid Malignancies”. Chaired by Dr Gangadhara Sundar, this event was a great opportunity to exchange knowledge with peers and trainees.

As a Consultant Ophthalmologist specialising in Oculoplastics and Ophthalmic Oncology at Tennent Institute of Ophthalmology in Glasgow, I manage a significant portion of Scotland’s eye cancer cases. My work includes over 300 referrals a year, contributing to research with numerous publications and book chapters, and participating in peer review for several medical journals. In addition to my clinical work, I’m involved in academic roles, including leading the RCOphth curriculum sub-committee and directing the Ophthalmology Training Programme in the west of Scotland.

This event on 4th January 2024 was a fruitful session of learning and discussion, and I’m grateful for the chance to contribute and engage with fellow professionals in the field.
