The seventh annual Glasgow FRCOpth preparatory course ran from 2nd to 4th October and was a fantastic success. The course was started back in 2018, when there were only two similar courses — in London and Birmingham. Since then, under Mr Chadha’s leadership, the Glasgow course has gone from strength to strength, and there are now many such courses are now running across the UK, all helping resident doctors tackle the sometimes daunting FRCOphth Final Exam.
At the conclusion of the course, Mr Chadha recognised the contribution of everyone involved, saying ‘a massive thank you to each and every one of you- 25 examiners, 19 patients and 8 organisers — for giving your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You’re what makes this course special, and it’s always inspiring to see everyone working together to support the next generation of ophthalmologists.’
The course gets advertised every spring and is usually booked up within two weeks with numbers limited to 18 only. It covers each special interest areas in detail over the first two days and the final day is a Mock Viva and OSCE which simulates the examination setting giving the candidates a realistic experience.
